Came across a reference to the Tuckman Jensen model of group development while reading on team work:
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuckman's_stages_of_group_development
The five stages: Forming, Storming, Norming, Performing, and Adjourning.
It is not a coincidence these stages are profoundly visible in any new team setting, making high performing team development a challenge for even the seasoned leaders.
If you read on the model in details, you will realize how a variety of contradictory skills are required to lead a new team to success. Add to that the challenges of members leaving, new ones coming in, group's goals changing ...
I will describe my interpretation of the model shortly, with practical implications in the corporate context. For now, enjoy the link... It is an absolute treat to read:-)
Very nicely described informative definition of team building!! I truly enjoyed actually what mean about team building. Looking forward to learn more perception about such topic...
