SMIViewer fan base, Russia, and China

Here is a visitor map for all the people who have ever visited the SMIViewer download page (Since the counter's inception on July 1, 2008, and until Aug 26, 2008 morning):



Quite amazing. Isnt it?

The one thing that surprises me is: why China's map is so sparse? Is it due to government restrictions on the internet? Last week I got an email from a Chinese researcher that the download link appears blocked to him. Strange! So much control over exchange of information! And yet so many people admire China's authoritarian system.

Another thing to note is why there is almost zero visits from Russia. Compare that to the forest emanating from EU. Wow!
